1913, "GERMAN SOUTH POLAR EXPEDITION 1911-1912, the expedition visited South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands, discovered the Filchner Ice Shelf, the "Deutschland" was then reset and drifted 600 miles in pack ice for nine month before getting free on 16 Dez. 1912, visited South Georgia a second time, cover front with inscription "Deutsche Antarktische Expedition" send from "Charlottenburg 30.3.13" to England, expedition vignette enclosed.

In april 2005 the idea to build a place where collectors, customers and investors from all over the world could meet, was realized.
Since that time both, the Mail Order House and Auction House Gärtner, have been united on 2.700 m2 in the easy accessible building owned by Christoph Gärtner.
Generous viewing and storage rooms, a private auction hall, enough parking space and an underground car park are available.
