This item is an imperf PLATE PROOF of one of the values from Tonga 1993 Child Art set. No stamps were issued imperf. The imperf stamps here are the plate proofs. All issued stamps were perforated. The specimen stamp comes with this lot for comparison.

All Tonga stamps issued after 1980 were perforated. Unlike other countries, Tonga did not issue both perf and imperf stamps, they were all perforated, none were issued imperf. However, at the beginning of each printing run, the printers Walsall Security Printers of London, used the printing plates to print off one imperf plate proof sheet for checking purposes before the main printing run. This plate proof sheet was not perforated, and was checked by the printers for any mistakes and for clarity of colour. After checking, this first sheet was not perforated, but was left imperf., and was then placed in the printers archives. The item here for sale has been taken from the printers imperf plate proof sheet, and is a very scarce item from the printers archival material.

All payments are to be made via PayPal or Mangopay, depending on the possibilities offered by the seller. No payments are to be made by neither cheque, bank transfer nor cash directly to the seller.

REGISTRATION

Australia Post SMALL international registration envelope - 10.00 euros - used for smaller items and smaller covers.

Australia Post LARGE international registration envelope - 16.00 euros - used for larger items and larger covers. NOTE there is no tracking with registered letters. Tracking costs a little bit more.

On certain occasions if large total is purchased, tracking may be required and I will advise the cost - currently it is 21.00 euros

NOTE - IMPORTANT - WHEN REGISTRATION IS COMPULSORY

Registration fee MUST be paid when:-

1. Total cost of items purchased is over 60 euros.
2. Any country I deem necessary because of risk.
