A disbound, 1848 Illustrated London News which should have eight pages (16 sides), but is missing one page. However, all these newspapers make fascinating reading - even though the condition of this one is no more than ´fair´.
There are dozens of articles - including one about an attack on the Pope´s Palace in Rome.
There are over 15 engravings (including one of the new Church of St Paul, Camden Square; Brocket Hall (Hertfordshire); and cannons trained on the Pope´s Palace.
The first scan shows the new Cathedral in St Petersburg, while others depict Kooringa and the Burra Burra mine in South Australia, Brockett Hall (Hertfordshire), and the late Viscount Melbourne.
Finally, there are over 100 interesting little advertisements.
We actually have over 1000 19th century I.L.N.s, but most of them are in bound volumes.
