I am a retired college professor ( ... subjects: logistics, project management, economics, business, quantitative management, statistics, quality control ... plus others). I live in southeast Virginia with my wife of 53 years ... that is married time, not her age. We also have two children living nearby; and seven grandchildren. Southeast Virginia is generally referred to either "Southside" or "Tidewater" in the United States.
I have been collecting stamps for the past 67 years. I started at eight years old with the US 1951 Washington at the Battle of Brooklyn that my mother purchased for me at the Gimbels stamp counter in New York City. My collections are somewhat electic: United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Norway, Denmark, France, Austria ... and strangely Venezuela. Back when I was about 12 years old, I bought a "banker's box" of used stamps, and they were all from Venezuela - so when you have a bunch of stamps, you sort them out and start a collection.
I collect used stamps, and have purchased stamps through Delcampe for years. I only recently started selling my duplicate stamps out on Delcampe.
Beyond stamps ... I have two great old cars ... a 1979 MGB and a 1972 Datsun 240Z ... an organic vegetable garden ... and I am a home chef
Any ... this is me ... Jim Dumville
