Testo di riferimento per i principali eventi storico-postali, derivato dalle collezioni dell\´autore in cui eventi della storia dell\´uomo, sviluppo del sistema postale e documenti dell\´epoca, vengono messi in relazione.
Il volume si compone di due parti. Nella prima, dal 3000 a.C. al 1840, per ogni secolo (dal 1200) l\´autore tratteggia i principali eventi storici accaduti nel territorio italiano e nel mondo con brevi cenni storico-postali del secolo e riproduce alcuni documenti dell\´epoca fino alla nascita, nel 1840, del primo francobollo in Gran Bretagna. Nella seconda parte, dal 1850 al 2000, l\´autore delinea tutti gli eventi storici accaduti nel territorio italiano che hanno portato all\´emissione di francobolli. Per ogni evento si danno brevi cenni storici e storico-postali e si riproducono alcuni documenti significativi.
