Bijzonderheden:
"De Hoop" is een hoge, slanke stellingkorenmolen in het hartje van de stad Tholen. De molen werd gebouwd in 1736. Op deze kaart is te zien dat de begroeiing rond de molen minder hoog is dan tegenwoordig. Dat kan verklaard worden uit de overstromingen van 1944 en 1953, die met hun zoute water de bosschages behoorlijk hebben uitgedund. Tegenwoordig zien we door de hoge bomen de molen (bijna) niet meer.
