DESCRIPTION: Circa 1970s divided back printed colour continental size multi view post card, titled:
' BUCKLAND CHURCH ' , South-eastern Tasmania, South-eastern Australia. Descriptive text printed
on back reads: Built in 1846, this is the church of St. John the Baptist. Its notable feature and
very popular tourist attraction is the east window, said to have originally been designed for the
Battle Abbey in England, the site of the Battle of Hastings. The window is believed to have been
given to the first Rector of Buckland, Reverend F. H. Fox by the Marquis of Salisbury and install-
ed in 1849. (See my previous listing of the same view but from a different printing.)
