Het Geheim van Bakkendoen is het 30ste Neroverhaal. Het verscheen in dagblad Het Volk van 18 september 1957 tot 18 januari 1958.
Het verhaal werd destijds dagelijks uitgeknipt door de verkoper. De afzonderlijke blaadjes werden met papierlijm aan de strook links aan elkaar gelijmd.

Vergelijking met het gelijknamige album toont aan dat het aangeboden document volledig is.
Het krantenpapier is wat geler geworden dan uit de foto’s blijkt. Verder in goede staat. Geen scheurtjes. 22 x 14 cm
